"Footloose," "LeyLines," and p.97
May 30, 2012
Double-featuring the SpiderForest Comic of the Week again, since I ended up once again not posting last week. Really not trying to make a habit of this. >_>

First up--i.e. last week's CoTW--we have "Footloose" by Alice and Emily. Or Emily and Alice. You know... order really isn't important here. "Footloose" has been updating for quite a while, and I'm a bit ashamed to say I haven't read nearly as much of it as I feel I should have. Definitely your one-stop shop for quirky supernaturals, and probably the only time you'll see a main character who's the protagonist on account of a heritable disorder (Primary Protagonist Syndrome, explained beautifully on this page right here: http://www.footloosecomic.com/footloose/pages.php?page=13).

Next up is "LeyLines" by Robin Dempsey, a gorgeous fantasy tale with some of the most solid world-building I've seen in a webcomic. I've regrettably fallen behind on it, which I will probably be trying to remedy this afternoon. Robin kindly provided a couple of synopsis taglines for our use this week, so here's one of them for your enjoyment: "Three siblings from a broken family are caught in the conspiracy that claimed their mother's life. To save their family and nation, they seek out ancient gods for answers -- but the gods give nothing for free."

This week on "Cetiya," what's a club without a bar? And what's an ominous scene without a brief moment of slightly ridiculous dancing? Nine can't hear those voices coming out of the other end of the club, but she'll become aware of them soon enough...

(Some of you might have noticed that my ad boxes are currently broken. It looks like I'm going to need to do a little bit of recoding on those, so just bear with me for a little bit. I'm hoping to have them repaired within the next couple of days.)
